JeffCo Sheriff Investigates Swastika Displayed Along I-70
Local leaders have condemned the vandalism as an "appalling act".
A swastika spotted on a hillside next to I-70 in Jefferson County has been removed and is now evidence in a criminal investigation launched by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
- The antisemitic symbol was seen on Saturday morning on Jefferson County Open Space land.
- It was removed by officers and rangers as quickly as possible.
"I can tell you we have an investigator assigned to it,"
said Karlyn Tilley, Public Information Officer for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. There are no suspects in the case yet.
