Fiona Johnston will depart Dentsu at the end of this week, after nearly three years with the business.
Currently the CEO – client and commercial, and practice resident, Johnston joined from IPG Mediabrands. Her departure follows the announcement of Kirsty Muddle’s move to Ogilvy, although the two are reportedly unconnected.
Johnston’s departure is also unrelated to the rumored sale of Dentsu’s international business. Instead, Dentsu is removing her current role as part of a restructuring effort to simplify its business and adopt a flatter leadership structure.
The company is realigning its model to support its strategic capabilities and Media ++ strategy.
