Loan Scam in Hyderabad
A 30-year-old resident of Begumpet, Hyderabad, fell victim to a loan scam after receiving a WhatsApp call from a person using a picture of Salman Khan, founder of Hyderabad Youth Courage (HYC).
The caller falsely claimed that a loan of Rs 50 lakh had been sanctioned in the victim's name and demanded Rs 10 lakh for processing and other charges.
The victim transferred Rs 7.9 lakh to the fraudster's bank accounts, only to be asked for an additional Rs 30,000 later.
- The victim was promised a return of Rs 10 lakh after paying the additional amount.
