Neighboring landowners have filed a lawsuit to block the construction of a $35 million Lane County mental health crisis center and a 96-bed behavioral health hospital, known as Timber Springs, launched by PeaceHealth.

The suit challenges the constitutionality of recent Oregon legislation that aims to fast-track the siting of behavioral health facilities and change civil commitment criteria in the state.

Expanded behavioral health care is greatly needed in Oregon, and in particular Lane County.
