A new federal law aims to fight dangerous hazing on college campuses and make the reporting process more transparent.
Ohio continues to grapple with serious hazing incidents across its universities, despite being a leader in anti-hazing laws.
“So Ohio was already a leader in training and educating hazing educators and prevention specialists. So I think what this does for Ohio is it presents the hazing and in a way that mandates it, even further standardizes it and sort of tries to like embed the hazing reporting as a campus crime too,”
said Pietro Sasso, an associate professor of education at Delaware State University.
