The nominees for the Critics Choice Documentary Awards have been announced, with Orwell: 2+2=5 by Raoul Peck leading the pack with seven nods.

Geeta Gandbhir's The Perfect Neighbor follows closely with six nominations. Orwell: 2+2=5 premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival and explores the work of George Orwell and the rise of totalitarianism.

The Perfect Neighbor, which premiered at Sundance, chronicles a significant event in 2023 in Florida that challenged the state's 'stand your ground' law.

Additionally, Ken Burns will receive the Critics Choice Impact Award, and Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady will be honored with the Pennebaker Award.
