A Pennsylvania family's vacation plans took an unexpected turn when they discovered their cat, Ray Ray, had been riding on the roof of their van for 100 miles.
“We had driven for two hours and needed to stop for gas,” Mara Denardo said. “My husband gets out of the car to pump the gas and is like, ‘The cat is on the roof.’”
The Denardo family was en route to New Hampshire and then New York City when they made the astonishing discovery. Ray Ray had survived 100 miles of wind, bumps, and highway traffic on the van's roof.
The family had said their goodbyes to their pets and locked up the house, unaware that Ray Ray had sneaked onto the roof. The cat's secret plan to join the family on vacation was revealed when they stopped for gas.
The family's initial panic turned to disbelief and laughter at the unexpected turn of events.
