Leader of Opposition Dumelang Saleshando has called on President Duma Boko to account for the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency, labeling it as "mere drama".
Saleshando expressed concern that the declaration was made immediately after the Parliament winter session.
"We seem to have a trend of a national president who acts alone on very important national issues and remember as Parliament our duty is to provide oversight on the conduct of the executive,"
Saleshando warned that this move undermines the legislative's power and urged legislators to take note, as decisions made without their oversight could lead to negative consequences.
