New York Greek Film Expo Wraps Up Its Largest Festival Yet

The New York Greek Film Expo concluded its annual festival with record attendance across NYC and New Jersey, culminating in a finale in Queens.

The 13 screenings, led by the Hellenic Film Society, showcased Greek films and filmmakers, running from Oct. 12 for 11 days across venues in Manhattan, Fort Lee, New Jersey, and Astoria.

Awards were presented during the festival, along with a retrospective on acclaimed Greek filmmaker Pantelis Voulgaris.

“We are overwhelmed by the audience response to this year’s expo, which saw its largest audience to date, and we’re thrilled that, for many, it was their first time attending a Greek film,”

said Maria C. Miles, Hellenic Film Society’s president.
