Next-Gen Tank to Reach Soldiers for Testing by End of 2026

General Dynamics is working on a "pre-prototype" of the M1E3 Abrams for soldiers to try out.

The Army's plan to field its next-generation M1E3 Abrams tank will hit a major milestone before the end of next year with its first soldier touchpoint, according to Danny Deep, executive vice president for Global Operations at General Dynamics.

We're going to have it fielded in the next 12 months for soldiers to touch it, see what they like, see what they don't like.

Deep stated that after the initial testing, they will start delivering the capability in the next two to three years, as opposed to the next 10.

Author's summary: New tank prototype to be tested by soldiers by 2026.
