Sabalenka was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the semi-final, ending her streak of three consecutive titles at the tournament (2018, 2019, and 2024). However, she maintained her top ranking due to Iga Swiatek's quarter-final loss.
Sabalenka's year-end No 1 ranking was guaranteed after the tournament.
Coco Gauff also improved her chances of becoming the American No 1 ranking, while Mboko and Raducanu missed out on opportunities.
