Former Employee Accuses Union County Sheriff of Retaliatory Termination

A former Union County Sheriff’s Office employee, Morgan Crider, who also serves as the county’s E-911 director, has accused Sheriff Billy Breeding of filing a false disciplinary complaint against her and making sexual comments towards her.

According to a lawsuit filed on October 10, 2025, the issues began on September 20, 2024, when Breeding issued a notice of disciplinary action against Crider.

Crider said the sheriff fired her from her job because she spoke up about the disciplinary complaint.
