Large Police Presence Closes Clark Middle School
The Anchorage Police Department responded to an investigation into a disturbance with a weapon on Thursday morning in the 3400-block of Commercial Drive.
According to the APD, a large police presence formed around Commercial Drive and Mountain View Drive, resulting in the closure of Mountain View Drive from Porcupine Drive to Commercial Drive. However, as of 9 a.m. Thursday, there were no road closures.
Due to the large police presence, Clark Middle School has been closed for the day, according to an email from the Anchorage School District. The ASD confirmed that students and staff currently at the school are safe.
The public has been asked to avoid the area unless necessary.
