Rare Old Pulteney Whisky Sold at Charity Auction
A 47-year-old single malt whisky from Old Pulteney has been sold at a charity auction for £62,500, exceeding its estimated value of £26,000 - £40,000.
The whisky, named Polaris, is the oldest-ever release from Old Pulteney and was sold to raise funds for The Distillers' Charity.
The sale price works out to around £1000 for a single glass.
Unique Features of the Whisky
- The whisky is presented in a 1.5L hand-blown blue glass bottle.
- The bottle features inciso cuts that evoke the crashing waves of the North Sea.
- The bottle was designed and created by Tain-based glass merchant, Glasstorm.
