Mysterious Glow in Milky Way Could Be Evidence of Dark Matter

Researchers at Johns Hopkins University may have found a clue to prove the existence of dark matter.

A diffuse glow of gamma rays near the center of the Milky Way has puzzled researchers for decades. Theories suggest it could come from colliding dark matter particles or quickly spinning neutron stars.

Both theories are equally likely, according to new research published in the journal Physical Review Letters.

If the excess gamma light is not from dying stars, it could be the first proof of dark matter's existence.
