Temperature Records Shattered in Multiple Vancouver Island Towns
A number of communities in British Columbia, including Port Hardy, Port Alberni, Campbell River, and Qualicum Beach, have seen record-breaking low temperatures.
Qualicum Beach set a new record of -1 C on October 14, according to Environment Canada, surpassing the previous record of -0.5 C set in 1992. Records in the area have been kept since 1962 and are measured at the Qualicum Beach Airport.

Additionally, Fort Nelson saw a new warm temperature record of 19.4 C, beating the old mark of 19 C set in 1937.
