The first benchmark result for the M5 chip in the new 14-inch MacBook Pro has been released, showing a multi-core CPU performance score of 17,862 on Geekbench 6.
This score indicates that the M5 chip is up to 20% faster than the M4 chip in the previous 14-inch MacBook Pro, and also outperforms the M3 Pro chip. The M5 chip's score is nearly on par with the M1 Ultra chip.
The new 14-inch MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models are available for pre-order, with a launch date of October 22.
