14-Year-Old in Critical Condition After DUI Crash
A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition at Loma Linda University Medical Center after being struck by a DUI driver in La Quinta, according to his family.
The incident occurred on October 10th at the intersection of Highway 111 and Adams St. Thermal Sheriff's deputies responded to the collision and found two juveniles hit by a car while riding their bikes.
One of the boys, Liam Cantu, a freshman at La Quinta High School, was rushed to the hospital. His parents, Jennifer Perez and Jesus Cantu, received the devastating news from a friend who found Liam at the scene.
They immediately called us and told us that my son was hit by a drunk driver or a car crash.
Liam's family is now waiting for a miracle as he fights for his life.
