'We Were Hunting for That Fish.' Nebraska Guide Breaks 21-Year-Old Catfish Record

Nebraska Guide Breaks 21-Year-Old Catfish Record

Nebraska fishing guide George Thompson caught a 105-pound blue catfish from the Missouri River.

Thompson knew exactly where he was headed when he launched his boat on the Missouri River with his two sons, as they had hooked something huge the week prior.

"I knew it was a monster fish that was probably in that 100-pound range,"

Thompson cast out a catfish rig baited with cut skipjack in a deep hole on the Iowa side, and after a soft take, he landed the massive fish.
