Phoenix experienced record-breaking weather on Saturday, with the National Weather Service reporting 0.7 inches of rain at Sky Harbor Airport.
The previous rainfall record for October 11 was set nearly a century ago at 0.3 inches.
“Most areas got anywhere between a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rainfall with some areas — isolated areas — over an inch of rain,"
said Gabriel Lojero, a weather service meteorologist.
Lojero noted that no heavy rainfall has hit the areas of Globe and Miami, where intense flooding caused devastation last month.
The agency has issued a flood watch for Phoenix that extends to Sunday night.
