A new twist has been added to the secretive world of managerial searches, with University of Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello being considered for the San Francisco Giants' managerial job.
Although major league baseball has not typically hired managers from the college ranks, Vitello's excellent commentary on draft nights for MLB Network has made him a notable figure.
The best hires, or at least the most interesting, seem to be the most unexpected.
