The short film "The Wolf" by Bulgarian animator Theodore Ushev has won the Grand Jury Award at the Edmonton International Film Festival.
"A year after its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and participation in the most important short film festivals around the world, The Wolf won its first award. And it was at a festival that qualifies it for the Oscars,"
The film is based on Bulgarian writer Emilian Stanev's short story "Wolf Nights". Two of Ushev's films have been nominated for an Oscar so far, including "Blind Vaysha", based on the story by writer Georgi Gospodinov.
