On the occasion of Bandi Chhor Divas, Giani Raghbir Singh, Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, greeted the Sikh community and appealed to the government to release Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences.
Giani Raghbir Singh emphasized that governments should follow the path shown by Gurus and grant freedom to Bandi Singhs, highlighting the significance of Bandi Chhor Divas as the day when Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji secured the release of 52 imprisoned kings from the Gwalior Fort.
“Keeping that spirit alive, the Sikh community celebrates this sacred day as Bandi Chhor Divas,”
he said, as devotees light lamps of pure ghee, filling the city of Amritsar with devotion and joy.
