Holiday Tours at Hartwood Acres Canceled
Holiday tours of the mansion at Hartwood Acres have been canceled due to the ongoing Pennsylvania budget impasse, according to Allegheny County spokeswoman Abigail Gardner.
The cancellation is part of a spending freeze as the county faces a $100 million shortfall resulting from the state's lack of a budget since June 30.
“It has real impacts,”
Gardner stated, announcing the hiring and spending freezes in September. The county has requested departments to reduce discretionary spending, with further cuts expected.
