Catholic Trustee Resigns Amidst Controversy

Mark Watson, a Catholic trustee, has resigned from the school board due to controversy surrounding a trip to Italy.

Watson, who represented Haldimand County, had come under fire for not repaying expenses for the trip.

“We respect Trustee Watson’s decision to step down from the Board and will move forward, collaboratively, with a continued focus on teaching and learning, student well-being, and the strategic priorities that guide our Catholic school system,” said board chair Carol Luciani.

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board acknowledged receipt of Watson's resignation on its website.
