Gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger and lieutenant governor nominee Ghazala Hashmi, along with Virginia's two Democratic senators, called Jones' texts inexcusable.

Despite the criticism, they do not think his actions are disqualifying for the role of Attorney-General.
