Kgafela-Mokoka Calls for Bold Overhaul of Education System
The Minister of Child Welfare and Basic Education, Nono Kgafela-Mokoka, has called for an urgent overhaul of Botswana’s education system.
She warned that despite strides in access to learning, serious cracks in infrastructure, inclusivity, and relevance threaten the nation’s human capital development.
Our mandate is to cultivate excellence across the entire learning spectrum, from early childhood development through primary and secondary schooling, culminating in globally competitive tertiary institutions.
Kgafela-Mokoka emphasized that the education sector must evolve from being ‘a single phase of life’ into a ‘continuous journey’ that equips every citizen for lifelong learning and adaptability in an ever-changing global economy.
