Queer Issues are Human Issues

Content warnings: sexual assault, genocide, suicide. Queer issues extend beyond identities and labels, as attacks on queerness are attacks on humanity.

Our activism must consider overlapping identities between marginalized groups, particularly how queer identities are impacted by social and political conflicts related to ethnic and racial groups.

This Queer History Month, we must acknowledge that the oppression of other communities affects queer issues too, as seen in the genocide in Gaza, rising global fascism, and housing insecurity.

On October 18, seven million people protested in the "No Kings" movement against the loss of human rights due to U.S. President Donald Trump's authoritarian policies.

Attacks on queerness are attacks on humanity as a whole.

In conclusion, queer issues are intertwined with human issues, and our advocacy must be united and intersectional.
