The 2025 Honens International Piano Competition results have been announced.
30-year-old Canadian pianist Élisabeth Pion won the competition in Calgary. She impressed the jury and audience with performances of Franck's Piano Quintet in F minor and Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto.
Pion earned the top prize of $100,000 (CAD), the Audience Choice Award, and a place in Honens's three-year Artist Development Program, valued at $500,000 (CAD).
Her poise and artistry earned her the top prize.
