Comet 3I/ATLAS was detected on July 1, 2025, by the ATLAS survey telescope in Rio Hurtado, Chile, and is now being studied by astronomers and scientists.
A NASA official from the Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) confirmed that Comet 3I/ATLAS originated outside of our solar system.
