Amazon Plans to Cut Corporate Jobs

Amazon reportedly plans to cut around 30,000 corporate jobs, starting on Tuesday, in its largest job reduction since 2023.

The job cuts are expected to affect various sectors, including human resources, devices and services, and operations. This move follows smaller job cuts across different divisions in recent years.

In January, Amazon reduced a small number of positions in its Communications and Sustainability departments. A memo from Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated that fewer corporate jobs will be needed as Amazon implements more AI agents.

Amazon hasn’t eliminated this many jobs since 27,000 were cut beginning in late 2022.

Amazon didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
