How is UW supporting job seekers with disabilities?

Support for Job Seekers with Disabilities at UW

Youth with disabilities face significant challenges in the job market. As of this fall, youth employment stands at about 54 per cent, the lowest since 1999, excluding peak pandemic years.

This number includes both youth with and without disabilities. However, students and recent graduates with disabilities, who make up 20 per cent of the country's youth, experience higher unemployment rates despite increased attendance in post-secondary education.

“It’s pretty grim out there right now,” said Vanessa Sinclair, director of research and evaluation at the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW).
