Strong by Form to Showcase Ultralight Engineered Wood at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025
Strong by Form has developed a structural floor piece that can span longer distances than existing engineered wood, making it a potential replacement for steel or concrete, while being lighter than all three.
According to the World Green Building Council, the materials and construction required to build structures contribute 11% of global carbon emissions. Some places are experimenting with multistory timber buildings, but they are not yet a viable replacement for skyscrapers.
“We’re more into hybrid buildings,”
said Andrés Mitnik, co-founder and CEO of Strong by Form, indicating the company's focus on combining materials for sustainable construction.
The company will showcase its innovative product at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025, highlighting the potential for engineered wood in reducing carbon emissions.
