Trump Responds to Putin's Comments on Nobel Peace Prize
Donald Trump has responded after Vladimir Putin spoke out on his behalf following the announcement of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the prize to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, prompting Putin to criticize the decision, stating it has caused the prize to lose "credibility".
There have been cases where the committee has awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to people who have done nothing for peace. In my view, these decisions have done enormous damage to the prestige of this prize.
Putin also expressed his support for Trump, saying he "is truly doing a lot to resolve complex crises that have dragged on for years, even decades".
Trump had previously made it clear that he felt deserving of the award this year.
