International Students' Scholarship Contracts to be Tightened
Thousands of international students in Hungary may face tightened scholarship contracts due to a recent scandal at ELTE.
A lecture by Alexander Yakobson, a historian from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, was disrupted on October 16, prompting two ministers and the university rector to demand accountability.
“Diverzitás és demokrácia az izraeli társadalomban”
The lecture series is still available on ELTE's website, but only two of the three sessions were attended online due to the disruption.
- Students wearing keffiyehs shouted that the lecture was political propaganda supporting Israeli genocide.
- The lecturer, attendees, and university security were unable to calm the disturbance, leading to the lecture being halted.
