Arkema has completed a €40 million decarbonization project at its Mourenx site, known as the TREFLe Project.
The project includes the construction of a treatment plant for sulfur-based effluents, which reduces SO2 emissions by 40% and GHG emissions by over 10%.
The site specializes in specialty sulfur derivatives used in agrochemicals, refining, petrochemicals, and renewable fuels.
The new process will lead to the production of sulfuric acid to be used as a raw material by other industrial sites, reflecting the Group’s circular economy approach.
