Welsh Government's TB Move Praised by Farmers' Union
The Farmers’ Union of Wales (FUW) has welcomed the Welsh Government's announcement on Bovine TB, describing it as a "practical, evidence-led step".
Following a review by the TB Technical Advisory Group, it was found that cattle previously classified as standard interpretation resolved inconclusive reactors are three times more likely to be later identified as reactors or have positive test results.
- Cattle in Wales identified as resolved inconclusive reactors from 1 January 2026 will face lifelong movement restrictions.
- These animals can only move directly to slaughterhouses or Approved Finishing Units via licensed routes.
The move is a "practical, evidence-led step" according to the FUW.
