Governors Demand Food Support for 42M Americans
Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and 20 other governors sent a letter to President Donald Trump, urging his administration to release contingency funds for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The program supports 42 million Americans, including 16 million children, 8 million seniors, and 4 million people with disabilities.
The Trump administration informed states that funding for SNAP benefits will not be issued beginning November.
