Reduced Speed Limit for E-bikes and E-Scooters
New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced a new law decreasing the speed limit for e-bikes and e-scooters to 15 miles per hour.

The new rule, effective October 24, matches the speed limit for stand-up e-scooters and mirrors best practices for e-bike speeds in many areas, including the European Union.
The 15 mph limit is approximately equivalent to 25 kilometers-per-hour, the speed restriction for e-bikes in bike lanes in the EU.
