Mayo Charity Project Helps Schools in Ghana
The Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council, Cllr Sean Carey, joined staff and volunteers from Crosscause charity to fill a 40-foot container with schoolbooks and furniture.
The items, collected from schools throughout Mayo, will be reused in schools in Ghana, providing better educational opportunities for hundreds of children.
- The Schoolbooks and Furniture for Ghana campaign was an initiative of the Environment Office of Mayo County Council in partnership with Crosscause charity.
- The campaign collected materials from 60 Mayo schools.
The materials will be distributed for reuse to schools in Ghana.
A 40-foot container packed with schoolbooks and furniture started its journey from Mayo to Ghana.
