Barrington ‘Barry G’ Gordon, a renowned radio broadcaster, died of pneumonia on October 29 at the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
Known as the “King of Radio”, Barry G was instrumental in launching the careers of King Yellowman and Beenie Man.
He helped to kickstart King Yellowman and Beenie Man's careers.
Barry G's interest in radio broadcasting began during his teenage years at Kingston College. He started his career at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) in 1975 as a producer.
