Southern Water lifts hosepipe ban for Hampshire and Isle of Wight

Southern Water Lifts Hosepipe Ban

Southern Water has announced the end of the hosepipe ban for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The restriction was put in place in July due to record dry and hot weather, but has been lifted following wet weather in September and October.

We’re pleased to confirm that from today, Friday 31 October, the hosepipe ban in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight has been lifted.

Despite the lift, officials warn that drought conditions are likely to continue into 2026 without sustained precipitation, and urge the public to use water wisely.

Recent wet weather has eased shortages, but a consistent recovery from drought remains uncertain going into winter.
