Victory Against Outsourcing
UNISON celebrates a major win against outsourcing, with members from Dorset preventing the introduction of a subco that would have affected 1,700 facilities staff.
“Every time we’ve seen a subco, we’ve launched a campaign against it – and this was no different,”
said General Secretary Christina McAnea, praising the campaign as
“a brilliant example of how organising works”.
This victory affects porters, caterers, housekeepers, and other NHS facilities staff, protecting their terms and conditions, including pensions.
UNISON has led national opposition to subcos since 2017, and this win is a significant achievement.
