Church Unveils New Garden as 'Sanctuary' for Community
Rebecca Beer, wife of the church's former minister, the late Jonathan Beer, officially opened the garden at Romsey Baptist Church.
The event began with a welcome from current minister, Fiona Blaker, who thanked all contributors to the project and shared the vision behind the sensory garden:
A desire to provide a sanctuary where hearts can be still, where minds can find peace, and where souls can be renewed in the presence of our Creator.
Fiona blessed the garden and offered it to God's service. Rebecca then cut the ribbon, declaring the garden open, and spoke about her late husband's passion for the community and love of nature.
The garden was unveiled on Saturday, September 27, after months of work.
