Mexican Authorities Suspect Jalisco Cartel Involvement in Mayor's Killing
Mexican authorities suspect that Carlos Manzo Rodriguez, the mayor of Uruapan, was killed by the Jalisco Cartel, according to a report.
The killing is linked to the capture of a local leader, Rene Belmonte, also known as Rino, by police in August. Rino was a close subordinate of the Alvarez Ayala brothers, top leaders in the Jalisco Cartel.

- The gunman, a young man between 17 and 19 years old, was connected to the cartel and was killed immediately after the shooting.
