Panzenbeck projected to win for mayor, council looks to remain split in Glen Cove City elections

Panzenbeck Projected to Win for Mayor, Council Likely Split in Glen Cove Elections

With almost all ballots in Glen Cove counted, incumbent mayor Pam Panzenbeck is projected to secure her third term, leading Democratic challenger Marsha Silverman with 56.42% of the vote, according to the Nassau County Board of Elections.

Officials from both parties noted on Tuesday night that absentee ballots were still being received, and final results had not been certified.

“Absentee ballots are still coming in, and final totals remain unofficial,” said election observers on Tuesday night.

While Silverman’s defeat marks a setback for Democrats, they still achieved a limited success — the city council is expected to remain evenly split between three Democrats and three Republicans, despite earlier projections suggesting a potential 4–2 Republican edge.
