Former Florida basketball star Will Richard made a strong impression in his NBA debut as a starter, scoring a career-high 30 points for the Golden State Warriors.
Richard shot efficiently, making 10 of 15 attempts from the floor, including five three-pointers. Despite his effort, the Warriors fell 121-116 to the Sacramento Kings. He also added seven rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes on the court.
“He’s shown he’s an NBA player,” said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr. “The experience, the poise – he doesn’t turn it over, he makes the right play. This guy’s a hell of a player.”
When asked after the game if scoring 30 points mattered to him, Richard reflected on his performance. This season, he has averaged 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.
