LeBron James is no longer the only active NBA player whose total career income has surpassed one billion dollars. According to a report by Sportico’s Kurt Badenhausen, both Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant have now reached billionaire status through their combined on-court earnings and endorsement deals.
James, Curry, and Durant are currently the only three NBA stars earning over 100 million dollars during the 2025–26 season, considering both salary and endorsements. Giannis Antetokounmpo is close behind with 99.1 million dollars in total yearly income.
LeBron James stands as the league’s highest-paid athlete this season, bringing in 132.6 million dollars — 52.6 million from his Los Angeles Lakers salary and 80 million from endorsements. Curry and Durant also earn 80 million each from sponsorships during the same season.
In terms of career on-court income, James and Durant are the only two players in NBA history to have surpassed 500 million dollars. Durant reached that milestone this season, fueled by his 53.3 million dollar salary with the Houston Rockets.
Stephen Curry ranks third all-time in career salary, accumulating 470.1 million dollars with the Golden State Warriors. He is projected to break the half-billion barrier during the 2026–27 season when he earns 62.6 million dollars.
Badenhausen noted that Curry has held the NBA’s highest salary for nine straight seasons, a streak sustained through his long-term commitment to the Warriors and back-to-back supermax contract extensions signed in 2017 and 2021.
Curry and Durant join LeBron James as active NBA billionaires, confirming their dominance both on the court and in the global endorsement market.
