Two people were killed at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday when two cars slammed into each other on the busy Highway 401. Each motorist were killed instantly. Five more occupants suffered scratches and bruises. Thick broken glass and metal covered the eastbound lanes. Cleanup crews finished by late morning. Authorities closed that stretch of road. Investigators wrapped up checks by around just before noon.
