Latest News About Qantas to repay customers, Virgin retains unused credits

Qantas has mailed letters or emails to ticket holders to about one million Australian customers.

The communication outlines a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled in the pandemic period.

The airline states the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who were affected and will be completed over the next few weeks in the near term.

simultaneously, Virgin Australia disclosed it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits still dormant.

The sum was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase this year.

Virgin has not yet announce any plan to release the credits so far.
